Synthologie, the first techno group from Corsica. In its origin, Synthologie was the chosen name for a summer orchestra (1993), establishhed by Jerôme Santamaria (DJ Quan) and Dominique Castant. Pianos bars in "organized evenings", through various animations; something was missing to this "duo with passion to pianos and computers", the creation itself ! The year 1994 was the turning point for Dominique Castant and the date for the arrival of Christophe Franceschi. It was also the turning point for the metamorphosis of "Synthologie orchestra" into "Synthologie group". Jerôme Santamaria (DJ Quan) and Christophe Franceschi, later joined by Michèle (Michaëla) and her voice, took over the challenge to compose and record the first album of Corsican techno. This included risks but they received the assistance of "Studio Fa Diese Corsica" and its director Louis Rutherford, who was enthusiastic about their style. After one month of composition and two months of recording these two perfectionists brought out the album "Techno is Synthologik" on the 15th of june 1995. Although it was essentially diffused in the discos and on the radio, the album had a prompt succes. After this date, the group concentrated on live performances in the discos of the beauty island. Especially in the years 1998-1999 in the disco "La caleche", the most famous disco in Corsica, where Jerôme was wearing the manager cap. 

The group was therefore occasionally joined by various male or female dancers. They were taking again the roads of Corsica until the year 2002 where Jerôme tried to concentrate all alone, sacrificing all of his time to the composition of the new album "Evuluzione" (14 titles) and some music pieces for various artists in Corsica and in France. Meanwhile Jerôme got maried with Kristina, who not only offered him her moral support but also her voice for some passages of his second album. Although he has been a fan of "new age" since his young age (his creative inspirations originates from groups such as "Kraftwerk","The Buggles" or the composer "Jean-Michel Jarre"), DJ Quan is able to compose with baffling facility in all the styles of music, Variety , House , Transe, Soul, Reggae, R&B, or the good old Rock & Roll for which his electric guitar imitations touch the perfection. 

Jérôme Santamaria succeeded to develop his own musical style based on techno, but integrating the corsican culture. A culture for wich he is a passionate defender and promoter. By the way , he does not hesitate to offer willingly his composer talent and his "Home studio" and services to young corsicans talents (or French one). His second album "Evuluzione" is a perfect exemple, where he combines the most perfect techno with the funniest corsican humor. Let us wish to his album a sincere success like it was with the first album ("Techno is Synthologik"). Jérôme Santamaria, who alread started to compose his third album, has a lot of projects in his head: resumption of concert tours across the island, creation of video- clips, one concert in Germany (where his first allbum "Techno is Synthologik" has been widely spread out and has also inspired local artists) and even a musical comedy (the first techno one in the world) for which the texts are already written.
